This document describes the test methods for power losses of sub-module in VSC valve, including double-pulse method, electrical measurement method, calorimetric method, and balanced calorimetric method,and specifies the test principles, test environment, test requirements, test system, test procedures, and loss calculation of the above methods.

This document is applicable to the test of power losses of sub-module in VSC valve of the modular multi-level converter (MMC) based on insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT). For the test of power losses of sub-module in VSC valve based on other types of power devices, this document may be referred to for implementation.
